The Ladybug Project Inc.

The fundraiser was a success! 75 people came out to support us, and a great amount of money was raised through a silent auction and the sale of phenomenal artwork, created by local artists. The event was hosted by Comedienne Kiana Dancie, and Mia the Peace Leader also came to support the event!

Upset you missed out? Don't worry, there are still auction items on Ebay, with 100% of profit going towards The Ladybug Project. Check out the auction items here!

With the new year comes a new logo!!! While thousands of people worldwide are making resolutions to change their look and style, we have already changed things up around here...and it's just the first of the year! For all of our "fans", you'll know that for 2010 we used an artistic portrait of a Malagasy woman to serve as the face of our organization. Now, we've switched to this fantastic logo, designed by our very own Joshua Stewart.

We hope you like it!

Last night marked the first ever Ladybug Project photography exhibit! Hosted by the wonderful Gus Harper in his art studio (Los Angeles, CA), we not only provided live music entertainment, light snacks, and hosted many attendees...but we also had the wonderful chance to showcase work inspired by Ugandan missionaries!

Among attendance were the Director of the UCLA African Studies program as well as the radio host of an LA-based African radio show.

The event was organized by actress and Ladybug Project volunteer Lindsay Shelton and The Ladybug Project photography was hand-picked and prepared for viewing by our volunteer, Lauren Reuter, with the intention of showing, "The Real Africa." In recent months, the world has been bombarded with messages of the World Cup and life in Africa; this exhibit intended to show clarity to these ideas.

The final exhibit included eighteen limited edition prints, three of which were swooped up before the night was even close to ending.
