Colegia National de Moka, Equatorial Guinea
In the mountains of Bioko Island, is a small town called Moka. Home to approximately 400 residents, the only school serving this area is in desperate need of supplies.
The local school, which caters to approximately 70 students, is a two classroom building with two teachers and an age range spanning from 5 to 14. The school is in decent condition, although there are no books, and no decorations; the classrooms truly have only minimal supplies. Unfortunately, this school represents the highest level of education that many of the children will get; mandatory, government-sponsored education ends at the age of 15 and many students go on to work on their family farms or as laborers. It is therefore critical to get supplies into the hands of the teachers so that they can help the students become as well-rounded, literate, and hirable as possible.
How we want to help the school:
The Ladybug Project has agreed to help the school in numerous ways. First, The Ladybug Project pledged to provide supplies as requested by the school including notebooks, maps of the world, board games, rain jackets, and sports equipment.
In addition, The Ladybug Project would to fund renovations of the school including painting, fixing the ceilings, and adding a small library onto the premises.
How you can help the school:
We are actively accepting supply donations for this initiative. For information on how you can donate supplies, please email us (ladybug.project.eg@gmail.com) or visit our Donation page!
