Diego Suarez Renovation Project
The Diego Suarez Renovation Project is an active project which has been ongoing since 2010, when we fund raised to deliver much-needed desks to the school. In 2012, we will be starting to prepare the school for larger renovations - it's a 14 classroom property with over 1,500 students that hasn't been renovated since 1960. The school is literally falling to pieces around the students. With horribly cracked walls and buildings that should be condemned, the plans for this school are much larger financially and logistically than for the other schools. |
The school is in dire need of adequate bathroom facilities, drinking water fountains, new doors and locks, new desks for the students, new blackboards; you name it, the school probably needs it.
We are actively accepting donations and corporate sponsorship for this project, which will impact the 1,517 students currently enrolled as well as thousands of students in the coming years. Our expected budget for the renovation is approximately $97,000 although this is a conservative estimate with renovations to only the most critical portions of the school.
