Why Us?

Kim Reuter an an orphanage in Equatorial Guinea, Africa.
Why us? The biggest question facing potential donors and volunteers is the question: Why should I donate to The Ladybug Project Inc.?
The Ladybug Project Inc. is unique for several reasons. As a small organization, we have low overhead costs. The organization is truly mobile; all of the projects are accomplished via the efforts of volunteers located all over the world, united under the mission to advance education and healthcare. We are a liaison, and not a business.
Our supplies and donations are much needed by our project sites. In Equatorial Guinea, the country's high GDP is causing many aid organizations to withdraw funding, despite overwhelming levels of poverty. In Madagascar, political instability has caused Western countries to suddenly cut all non-essential aid.
The Ladybug Project Inc. is making up for the absence of international aid with small, but meaningful, assistance.
We focus on a small but effective projects. We cannot, and do not, organize large, multi-million dollar projects. We do, however, buy much needed school supplies, build shelves in clinics, provide student scholarships, and commit to other relatively small projects where the impact will reach far beyond the initial monetary expenditure.
Additionally, the projects that we fund have been organized and agreed upon, in person. Every project site or sponsored individual has been visited in person. This means that the wish-lists and requested supplies are truly needed, and it also means that we have close control over how our donated funds are used. We do not buy or give supplies that could become useless without continuous aid; if the school has chalkboards, then we provide chalk.
Finally, it is important to note that the majority of our sponsored projects do not receive donations or funds from other outside sources, or if they do, the funding is irregular and unreliable. These are schools, clinics, and individuals who are unlikely to receive funding from large, established charities, especially considering the nature of their needs (small projects).
If you feel that The Ladybug Project Inc. is a program you would like to help, please peruse our current projects or check out our “Work for us” or "Donate" pages! If you decide that we are not the organization for you, a donation to any charity is fantastic. In fact, if you would like to donate to a larger charity working in Africa, feel free to email us for some tips on where to find additional information!
